What Mini Notebook Can Play "World of Warcraft"?

Mini notebooks, more commonly referred to as "subnotebooks" or "netbooks," are laptop computers created to be small, cheap and ultra-portable devices with some of the capabilities of their larger brethren. Netbooks tend to sacrifice power and graphics in order to maintain their small sizes and costs, meaning most of them are unable to handle most modern games such as "World of Warcraft," also known as "WoW." However, in recent years, some netbook makers have introduced more powerful computers to the market that are capable of playing "World of Warcraft.

"World of Warcraft" System Requirements and Netbooks
The minimum requirements listed by Blizzard for playing "World of Warcraft" are Windows XP or newer on a desktop computer with at least an Intel Pentium 4 1.3GHz or AMD Athlon XP 1500+ processor, 1GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce FX or ATI Radeon 9500 video card and 25GB of free hard drive space. However, many reviewers such as "WoW Daily News," have found the actual minimums to be much lower than those officially listed, at Windows 2000, 800MHz, 512MB of RAM and a 32MB NVIDIA GeForce 2 or better. Netbooks meeting these requirements have been reported by sites such as "Technology Reviews" and "Netbook For Gaming" to run high end games including "WoW."

The Acer "One" Series
All netbooks in the "Aspire One 522" series contain a 1GHz processor, 1GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon 6250 256MB graphics card. The "Aspire One 721" series contains two netbooks, both with a 1.7GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics card. "Aspire One 722" netbooks all have a 1GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 6250 graphics card. The "Ferrari One" netbook is a designer Acer computer with 1.2GHz of speed, 4GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 3200 card.

The ASUS "Eee PC" Series
Three "Eee PC" netbooks have specifications high enough for "WoW," though the game has been tested successfully on "Eee PC" computers as far back as the "1000H." The "Eee PC 1015PN" netbook comes with a 1.66GHz processor, 1 to 2GB of RAM and an NVIDIA ION 2 card. Also in the series, the "Eee PC 1201 PN" has a 1.66GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and an NVIDIA ION 2. Continuing the trend of ION 2 cards is the powerful "ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1215N" netbook, with a 1.8GHz processor, 2 to 4GB of RAM, and the ION 2 with 512MB of memory.

Other Compatible Netbooks
Three netbooks not by Acer or ASUS can run "WoW." Lenovo makes a netbook called the "ThinkPad X120e" with a 1.6GHz processor, 4GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 6310 graphics card. The "LT3119u" by Gateway has 1.2GHz of processing speed, 2GB of RAM and an ATI Radeon X1270 card. The most powerful gaming netbook on the market as of 2011 is the "Alienware M11x" which has a boosted processor up to 2.6GHz, up to 16 GB of RAM and up to a 2GB GeForce GT540M card.
